Testing and Diagnosis

CABLES (LV, MV & HV)

Pre-Installation Tests

Check for physical damage, manufacturer tags, etc.

Using a megger, usually at 500V/1000V for LV, 5kV for MV.

Verify conductor continuity and phase identification.

DC resistance to ensure proper conductor size.

Post-Installation / Commissioning Tests

LV Cables: Typically, 2U₀ for 5 minutes. MV/HV Cables: Done with AC (VLF) or DC methods.
